The only reason I bought this unit over some much nicer ones is because it boasted a feature that none of the other units I was looking at had... it plays MP4 and MKV hd movie files from a USB drive or an SD CARD.
I was really excited about that! But now that I have it all hooked up, movies from your USB drive or SD CARD will play on the head unit only! I have two headrest monitors for passengers in the back to watch. They can see DVD's played by this unit, but movies on the USB drive and SD CARD do not utilize video out! My 100+ dvd collection backed up to USB has just become a bit more useless. Who wants to carry around 100+ dvd's on a long trip?
This is extraordinarily frustrating! I contact their support and got it confirmed that "Only DVD mode supports video out".
Team that up with the fact that these units disable video playback from the source unit while the vehicle is in motion (even though apparently you can bypass that with a... Read more
